Possum Hollow, Kentucky

I know a gal named Dana from Possum Hollow, Kentucky.
She's headed back to the Holler for the Holidays.
I thought her story would make a good one and she was happy to tell me all about the Holler...
  • Her family runs a cattle ranch and they live in a farm house with a wrap-a-round porch.
  • From May to August it's hot and humid.
  • She loves the smell of honeysuckle and the song of the whippoorwill.
  • She loves dogs!
  • Her family does have horses.
  • Kentucky is green with lots of trees and it's very rural.
  • She has a charming accent.

Dana loves her home and loves to talk about it.

The title of the story would be simply:

"Possum Hollow" or "Otter Hollow" (or something like that)

It would be about a woman returning to the Holler she calls home after years of being away. She faces some dilemmas, solves them, and finds unexpected love... all in the Holler. The story would be loosely based on Dana story. (obviously).

Thank You Dana for telling me all about the Holler.

The American Children's Christmas Festival 08

On a whim Mom and I went to The American Children's Christmas Festival's parade on Main Street and it was lots of fun. The weather was perfect for a parade in December and there were plenty of folks out to enjoy the occasion.

Random Autumn Thoughts

Last weekend I enjoyed spending time with the Harris clan. Ky Ky (5) and I took time to visit the chickens, helped water the garden, and colored. It was relaxing. The weather was perfect for
a October day in southern Utah. The bon fire was a lots of fun and the laid back conversation was totally interesting.Mr. Harris brought a cowboy flavor to the already quaint country atmosphere. It was a lovely Autumn day.

Some Thoughts...

I have found myself interested in 19th and 20th century women authors such as: Jane Austin...Charlotte,Emily,and Anne Bronte...Louisa May Alcott...George Elliot...Elizabeth Gaskell...Beatrix Potter...L M Montgomery...Gene Stratton-Porter...Anna Sewell...
and Jean Webster. I'm interested in how they became writers , their lives,etc...It's just
an interestin subject for me to think about.

Thoughts on school...

Being a student right now has it's ups and downs. I'm thankful for the variety of things to be involved with and the opportunities to learn. However, I'm not so excited over the mundane part of higher education. Some classes that are required need to be looked at by a different angle...that's just how it is...and that's that...totally.

Education:It will open up doors

Quote of the day...

Once you have burned a pancake, it cannot be unburned

Think about it
